KEY LEARNINGS

In building this MVP:

• I honed my leadership skills and technical knowledge by working closely with a developer on exploring and selecting a technical back-end for the app based on the founder’s needs;

• I leveraged Firebase to quickly build and manage the app and the CoinMarketCap API to display real time cryptocurrency information.

MY ROLE

Lead Product Designer. I designed a chat-based interface for users to receive investment advice.

What was at stake: A regular crypto app wouldn't differentiate Coinley in the beginner market they were targeting. But introducing AI agents for investment advice was risky as users might not trust AI to guide financial decisions.

Why I made this decision: First-time crypto investors have to learn investing basics, blockchain concepts, candlestick charts, and data interpretation all at once. They needed a tutor to guide them through the process. I designed the AI as a conversational agent to make investing feel accessible rather than intimidating.
